There was great excitement this afternoon--the Second Grade Cookie and Book Exchange! I volunteered to help, arrived five minutes late, and found everything had been done already.

Every group has that one [maybe two] mom that knows exactly what to do. They're super-efficient organizers--jumping in, doing what needs to be done, and directing everyone elses' actions.
Need I say that I am not that mom?
I stood around looking useless and waiting to be told what to do. Then I flubbed that, getting interested in chatting with the other parents. I pretty much did nothing at all. Ah well--someone has to make the go-getters look good.
I wandered around and snapped a few photos.

There's mom--secure in her role as visiting grandmother, knowing that no one expects her to do anything.
Except maybe trying to keep the grandson's hands clean. (Something she just won't accept--the pointlessness of that endeavor.)
Nathan hammed it up a bit for me.

And got one of his best buddies to pose with him. (And no, I don't know why he's wearing his coat. It was quite balmy in there.)
And then another friend saw an opportunity to show off her cuteness.
And then early dismissal! I couldn't even get a pic of that--it all happened too quickly.
Now we have to wait for Mark to get home to begin HIS winter break. And my brother should be arriving sometime this evening.
The drama is building!!
