I love being one of the Trinity of Lauras here. :)

Ditto Loreena McKinnett and Blue Oyster Cult. These days, I listen to my boys play "Don't Fear the Reaper" on Guitar Hero. No "The Lady of Shalott" on Guitar Hero, alas.

Hmmm, Laura...just what type of a story is it, and is it perhaps blogworthy?

Jenn--it IS amazing isn't it? You can be in horrible mood and then a certain song comes on the radio, and pow, you're in another time, another place.

Storyteller--the most recent of these six songs is over ten years old. I left musical hipness (and every other type of hipness) long ago! But I bet you actually DO know the "Reaper" song. It came out in the early seventies, and it's one of those songs that are played everywhere. Here's a link to a YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMYSWiPm7E0&feature=related)--hopefully it works.

Yay! What an awesome list and I love the little story that rode along with Losing My Religion. I have a Losing My Religion story too but it's a little too...

Jenn @ Juggling Life

One of my favorite songs also. It's amazing the powerful memories certain songs hold.

Ohmygosh … I’m seriously ‘music deprived’ these days …(of choice actually, but perhaps I need to rethink this)… because I don’t recognize any of these songs (or albums). I’m happy you’ve found these ‘memes’ motivating and I’ll look forward to future lists in weeks to come.
Hugs and blessings,
